Mercedes Sandoval is an anthropologist, professor emeritus at Miami-Dade College and adjunct professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Miami.

Dr. Sandoval is author of Worldview, the Orichas and Santeria: Africa to Cuba and Beyond, and Mariel and Cuban National Identity.
