Jose Oliva
Jose Oliva was born in 1973 in Elizabeth, NJ, relocating to Florida in 1974. He graduated from Hialeah Miami Lakes High School and attended St. Thomas University. Oliva worked his family’s cigar manufacturing business, Oliva Cigar Company, and eventually served as its Chief Executive Officer.
Oliva was elected to the Florida House of Representatives on June 28, 2011 as a Republican. He represents District 110. Oliva serves as Chair of the Economic Affairs Committee, Chair of the Select Committee on Affordable Healthcare Access, and Chair of the Select Committee on Redistricting. He also serves on the Appropriations Committee, Health Innovation Subcommittee, and Rules, Calendar & Ethics Committee.
Oliva has served on the Hialeah Census Board and Housing Commission. He is Director of the Cuban Liberty Council, and a member of the Kiwanis Club.
